both environmental friendly and healthy for our future generations.

we all need to realize and plant more trees.
Cars and Trucks threaten the environment more than we can
imagine.
CO2 from running
economy car - 20,000 km (petrol) = 6 tons
heavy truck - 20,000 km (diesel) = 26 tons
Trees can help reduce the greenhouse effect in two ways:
1. trees directly absorb CO 2 the primary greenhouse gas
from the atmosphere during photosynthesis;
2. shade from trees can reduce air conditioning and energy use,
which reduces the amount of CO emitted by power plants.
On a carbon saving basis alone, urban/roadside trees provide
greater benefits that rural trees, because they reduce carbon
emission by reducing costing / heating energy consumption.
Researchers estimate that an urban/roadside tree can save five to ten times more
overall carbon than a rural tree.

Green Pakistan Movement
The drive is an initiative of NHA under the supervision of Minister for Communications Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan to safeguard “environment friendly” aspect of the development of National Assets. NHA is inviting All volunteer bodies to come forward & support the noble cause of planting trees along 12,000 KM National Highways & Motorways to ensure a healthier and safer environment where traveling is a perfect enjoyment.
Who Can Participate?
Government/Semi-government, National/Multinational, Educational Institutions, Civil Society Organizations & NGOs.
Where?
Land across the National Highways and Motorways will be
provided by NHA for plantation.
